The Closest So Far

I would like to keep it simple and short for this very first post. The reason why I call my blog 'English Premier League for Ghanaians' is that within the past three years we have shifted most of our attention to England due to two reasons. One is that the local league has not lived up to expectations and most Ghanaians are losing(if they have not already) interest in it. The other reason is Michael Essien. Ever since Jose Mourinho took him to Stamford Bridge Ghanaian have started to follow every thing he does. There could be other reasons why Ghanaians have come to like to Premier league but I think the afore mentioned dominate.

When I say 'The closest so far' then I want to say the Premier League is witnessing it closest race in years. The unique thing is that no team has a firm grip on the race. Arsenal have been given the nickname that Chelsea once held 'Consistently Inconsistent Team' yet they seem to follow the pack, Manchester United have been far from their devastating form which helped them to win the league twice on the trot. Chelsea look like school boys at home these days and the leaders Liverpool, although are doing well, one can sense that at some point they would crumble under the pressure of winning it after that long time(1990). We all saw what Hull City and Stoke did to them. Nonetheless they are playing the most efficient football at the moment.

Whatever be the case I think this season's race would go to the wire. The teams that would ultimately decide who wins the title (the king makers) would be Aston Villa, Tottenham Hotspurs, Everton and Manchester City. In my next post I would go deep and explain this assertion.
